Home shouldn’t be a concept. It should be a reality.
Having a home isn’t a privilege; it’s a right. Everyone should have a permanent place that they can call home, where they feel totally at ease and safe, for a price that is within their means. As a person who has experienced housing insecurity myself, I know all too well the perils we face when we cannot afford reasonable accommodations to call home. That is one of the myriad reasons why I started Small Home Magazine, to highlight and showcase the multitude of ways that home can be imagined, re-imagined and realized.
I’m design enthusiast Lizz M. Hodges, writer, creator and editor-in-chief of Small Home Magazine, my quarterly digital publication. Issues will be posted in January (Winter), April (Spring), July (Summer) and October (Autumn). If it really catches on I might feel inclined to make it a monthly! I’m based in Ohio but welcome ideas, stories and design inspiration from around the globe. If you’d like to contribute to the publication, send me an email at editorial@smallhomemag.com to submit articles, essays and pictures of your great tiny and small abodes. I would particularly like to hear from DIYers and see before/after photos of renovations or new builds, but all are welcome. Let’s collaborate! And thanks for reading!
